The article examines the historical data on the formation activities of volunteer rescue teams/squads in
various countries. It considers the long-term experience, traditions, and specific actions taken during
emergency situations in these countries, as well as the activities of the international community in this held. By
presenting specific information about Armenia, the article attempts to identify opportunities for establishing a
similar volunteer movement in Armenia.
