Abstract
The article presents karsts, as one of the gravitational geological processes, developing in rocks
(limestone, dolomite, gypsum, anhydrite, sodium and potassium salts) dissolving in natural surface and
groundwater. For the first time, an attempt was made to study karsts, changes in hydrogeological conditions
during their development and the influence on internal and external hazardous geological phenomena.
The main purpose of this article is to draw attention to the need for further study of the Dvin
earthquake source, associated with the possible collapse of underground voids (in this case, karst halls)
characteristic of this territory.
Key words: karst, rock, limestone, dolomite, gypsum, anhydrite, table salt, potassium salt, gravitational
geological processes.
