The methodology of teaching the ‘Energy Security” subject is proposed to students of social and humanitarian specialties. The goals and objectives of the subject are determined. The need to apply an interdisciplinary approach to the teaching of this subject is revealed. It is established that the use of Shannon indices and the ”Energy Trillema”, as well as the principles of global energy security by D. Yergin contribute to the most comprehensive understanding by students of energy problems. Particular attention is paid to the use of the PESTEL analysis method in the educational process. The main topics of lecture and seminars are proposed.
