Abstract
This article deals with the theoretical and methodological aspects of cultural policy. In particular, the essence of culture and cultural policy, as well as the content of cultural policy as a special type of management activity are analyzed. The components, directions, institutions, implementation mechanisms and toolkit of cultural policy are considered. A special role of the state as a subject of cultural policy is emphasized.
